Join a National contractor with a full range of Clients and contracts nationwide.

Our client provides general facilities maintenance and construction project work to the commercial sector as well as facilities maintenance services to the Public Sector and Private Sector at multiple sites.

We are currently recruiting for a CAD operator to cover the North West on a 6 month FTC

Hours of Work: 8:30 – 17:00 – Monday to Friday

The role

The role requires the ability to work under minimal direction and control and communicate effectively with other staff. The individual is expected to be able to manage their own workload. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be an innovative thinker with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment.

It is essential that you have the ability to form and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels with the clients organisation. It will be necessary to be able to interpret customer requirements and statutory provisions leading to the preparation of project designs and specifications within cost, programme limitations and standards / legislation.

Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Deliverables:

  • Providing a Design service to support all Capital and Revenue investment projects
  • Feasibilities, proposals and scheme designs
  • Dealing with construction and ‘as installed’ information
  • Providing s design service to support statutory records and ensure they are kept to a standard that meets the relevant requirements of the business and legislation
  • Maintenance of site master Models
  • Fire Risk Assessment
  • Means of escape
  • Underground services
  • Plant room schematics
  • Support to Client Systems site facilities and infrastructure data collection activities
  • Contribution to the development of the FM CAD system and associated databases
  • Update of site information including the model for ‘cost apportionment’ (SRS), and strategic planning for the MAI directorate
  • Supporting Client System’s facilities management engineers and maintenance professionals across MAI locations through the life cycle of facilities

Could this be for you?

  • CAD experience in a design office / building services discipline.
  • Proficient in surveying techniques and the ability to record ‘as is’ plans and schematics of facilities and services.
  • Good understanding of building related H&S, in particular CDM, the Building Regulations and Means of escape, and how they relate to design proposals and feasibility schemes
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in workplace layouts to achieve customer satisfaction and ensure best value for the business.
  • Proficient in the use of Bentley Systems – MicroStation V8-XM, ProjectWise XM and ProjectWise Digital Printroom XM (Iplot)
  • CAD experience in a design office / building services discipline
  • Proficient in surveying techniques and the ability to record ‘as is’ plans and schematics
  • Good understanding of building related H&S, in particular CDM, the Building Regulations and Means of escape, and how they relate to design proposals and feasibility schemes
